As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role within the commercial team, working on a diverse range of live construction projects across the MOD, healthcare, MOJ, commercial and industrial sectors.
You will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and be actively involved in the cost management and commercial delivery of schemes at various stages. With strong growth plans in place, the role offers clear career progression and development opportunities for the right individual.
Responsibilities
Assist with the processing of subcontractor applications and invoices
Support the commercial team in compiling cost reports and tender analysis
Help with subcontractor procurement and the issuing of orders
Attend site visits, client meetings, and progress reviews
Maintain accurate commercial documentation and assist with contract administration
Prepare material take-offs and support in valuations and variations
The ideal candidate will be a confident and driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor with previous experience in a construction main contracting environment. You will be eager to develop your skillset and take the next step in your career within a supportive and high-performing team.
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar AQS role within the build sector
Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts
Strong knowledge of commercial processes in construction
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other cost reporting tools
