An opportunity has arisen within EPUT's Inquiry Team to recruit an Associate Director working within the existing team dedicated to the Lampard Inquiry. The post holder will report directly to the Director, working alongside the current Associate Director. They will be responsible for ensuring the high standard, consistent and effective delivery of information, disclosure and support. The post holder will have line management responsibility for members of the Inquiry Team. The post holder will be based in South Essex but may be required to undertake regular journeys across Trust sites for meetings and also work flexible hours to meet the demands and deadlines required. The post holder will be able to 'work smart' (from home or at any Trust facility). The vacancy is for maternity leave cover from July 2026 to May 2027 and can be accepted on a fixed term / secondment basis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Project Director to lead a team to liaise and support the secretariat and Chair of the Lampard Inquiry. The Associate Director, supported by EPUT's Inquiry Team, will ensure that all requests from the Inquiry are processed efficiently and effectively. The post holder will operate independently, directing and overseeing the department, interpreting organisational policies, ensuring adherence by others within the Trust and challenging non-compliance. There is likely to be considerable stakeholder management associated with this initial programme, including internal, external and potential media interest. The post holder will frequently deal with highly distressing or emotional circumstances, relating to medical records, complaints, serious incidents and inquests, and will be required to support the conveying of unwelcome news/outcomes and lessons learned within the public arena.
