Overview
Are you enthusiastic about enabling children and young people to participate in all areas of life as best they can? We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with Band 6 or 7 experience in children's community services to lead on pathways for accurate information for EHCP provision. The Children’s Occupational Therapy Team is based in a purpose-built centre co-located with other health and local authority children’s services in Redbridge. Therapists have access to clinical space and work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Description / Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of children and young people with varying needs and disabilities to determine accurate advice for EHCP provision.
* Plan and coordinate service delivery with oversight of caseload management.
* Demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge, advanced assessment, and therapeutic skills.
* Support children and young people to develop independence and self-management and participate in activities that support full and happy lives.
* Contribute to the development of an integrated service for children, young people and their families/carers in Redbridge.
* Support learning and development of junior colleagues, peers and students; provide supervision and contribute to service development.
* Work within the Team and liaise with managers and other NELFT therapists to develop the service.

Qualifications and Experience
* Essential:
o Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
o HCPC registration
o 3 years paediatric experience
o Experience in advising, training and supporting junior staff and students
o Ability to carry out complex assessments on a range of children
o Excellent communication skills
o CPD commitment
* Desirable:
o Experience in writing EHCP reports
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of best practice and evidence base in paediatric OT
* Advanced knowledge of childhood occupations, development and impact of conditions
* Knowledge of working in the occupational therapy frame of reference
* Able to carry out complex assessments and deliver comprehensive face-to-face clinic assessments
