183344 Clinical Research Technician Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) Grade 4: Salary in the range of £28,437-£29,049 per annum (pro rata) This is a part time (50% FTE), fixed term position for 12 months or until 31st December 2026. We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Research Technician to join the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences supporting the research team in tissue and data collection and data management for clinical trials and registries and will ensure all work is conducted in accordance with relevant clinical trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice. This will include trials on the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) portfolio and commercially funded trials. In this post you will be responsible for allocated stages of a scientific process such as tissue sample collection related to specific trials and research studies and you will process, package and ship samples according to specific trial and research protocols and in accordance with GCP and IATA principles, training will be given as necessary. You will assist participants in research protocols and methodologies in order to facilitate obtaining informed consent and perform consent checks to ensure tissue and data relevant to studies and trials can be utilised in research. Additionally, you will assist with clinical observations as required by study protocols under the supervision or direction of qualified staff and ensure clinic appointments/tests required for patients involved in trials are carried out according to the schedule in the protocol. You must be educated to at least A-level or equivalent qualification in science or extensive relevant work experience. You will have experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team within a clinical environment together with the ability to clearly and accurately communicate processes and procedures verbally and in writing. You will also have the ability to use own initiative to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a busy environment alongside the ability to conform to ethical, research and clinical guidelines together with knowledge of health and safety regulations. Experience of data entry and a working of the orthopaedic surgical environment are desirable. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 3rd December 2025.
