Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grill Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
* Prepare and cook grilled items according to menu specifications and customer preferences.
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding kitchen areas.
* Assist with meal preparation by chopping, marinating, and seasoning ingredients as needed.
* Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to perfection.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety practices.
* Conduct regular checks on inventory levels for grill-related supplies and report shortages.
Skills
* Proficient in food preparation techniques with experience in a restaurant or culinary setting.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment.
* Familiarity with various cooking methods, particularly grilling, is essential.
* A positive attitude with a willingness to help others in the kitchen as needed.
