We are seeking a highly motivated bank Cardiac Physiologist Specialised in Pacing to join our friendly and dynamic team, providing high standards of care and support to patients at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital.

The post holder will support in the provision of the cardiac rhythm management including inpatient Pacemaker/ICD/CRT checks, pre and post-op Pacemaker/ICD/CRT programming, pre and post-MRI scan Pacemaker programming, and outpatient cardiac device clinic.

The successful candidate must independently write clinical reports following pacing reviews. In addition, physiologist clinical reports will be provided following ambulatory monitoring and ETT analysis.

What would be my responsibilities?

1. To participate in the provision of the cardiac rhythm management including inpatient Pacemaker/ICD/CRT checks, pre and post-op Pacemaker/ICD/CRT programming, pre and post-MRI scan Pacemaker programming, outpatient pacemaker clinic and remote monitoring.
2. To perform Pacing Quality Audit Reports.
3. To maintain high standards of technical competency in the provision of all technical cardiac procedures.
4. To effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to emergency situations maintaining control and requesting assistance as necessary.
5. To assist in the day-to-day management of procedures/workload/organisation within the department.
6. To act as a role model for junior members of the team and to contribute to their development.
7. To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, informing the relevant medical professionals when significant findings are diagnosed.
8. To assist the Cardiologist in theatres with DC cardioversions.
9. Ensure that the standard of work is maintained the Hospital’s rating with the CQC and help the Hospital achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Am I the right person?

10. BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
11. ILS
12. RCCP registration (desirable)
13. British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) accreditation or European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) accreditation or International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) accreditation
14. Experience with Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Biotroniks and St Jude Pacemaker programmers
15. Experience as independent practitioner in cardiology investigations
16. Experience of assisting in Pacemaker and Implantable Loop recorder implantation (desirable)
17. 24 hour Holter analysis.
18. Able to perform a wide range of non-invasive investigations independently.
19. Understanding of cardiac procedures and techniques.
20. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
21. Leadership skills.
22. Teaching skills.
