Searcys are looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at Stationers' Hall.

As a Searcys Sous Chef you will be required to be an ambassador for the brand and deliver food that creates lasting memories. You will not only support the Executive/Head Chef in the day to day running of the venue but also act as a mentor to the kitchen brigade.

Stationers' Hall is a Grade I listed building, close to St Paul's Cathedral. It is one of the few ancient Livery Halls remaining in the City of London. Completed in 1673 after the Great Fire of London, the Hall's suite of magnificent, inter-linking rooms as well as the secluded garden, make it one of the most sought after venues in the City for corporate events and Private Functions.

Job Type: Full Time ( Monday to Friday mostly)

Salary: £41,600 pa

As a Sous Chef at Stationers Hall, you will have the chance to create the finest quality dishes and deliver high end culinary experiences for our clients and guests. You will be based in the main kitchen amongst the brigade of chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

14. To provide food/service to a consistent high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other different areas throughout the business.
15. To manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the executive chef
16. To assist training of junior staff
17. To liaise with key people in the team in order to plan for the provision of food in all areas
18. To place order directly with suppliers.
19. To ensure smooth running of daily operations which include ensuring no disruption to the pre agreed menu offer.
20. Responsible to manage stock levels of that specific area including ordering when required as well as waste control.
21. Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
22. Be driven by people and delivering the highest quality of food.
23. Exemplary kitchen management practices and being an ambassador for Searcys legacy brand.
24. Innovative and inspiring culinary ideas for events and restaurant menus.
25. Support Exec/Head Chef in creating a professional working environment for the team ensuring that company standards are maintained and that Client expectations are met.
26. Previous experience as a Sous Chef in Events, Hotel or high end restaurants.
27. Excellent mentoring and communication skills.
28. Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving and excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices.
