Technical PreSales Specialist / & Onboarding (SaaS)
Location: Hybrid – Northampton (2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + benefits
The Role
We’re hiring a Technical Pre-Sales Specialist / Technical Account Manager with a strong SaaS background to join a growing technology business.
This role is heavily focused on the pre‑sales and onboarding stages of the customer lifecycle. You will work closely with prospects and new customers to deliver technical product demonstrations, support solution design, manage early onboarding, and ensure customers are successfully implemented and active on the platform.
This is not a traditional Customer Success role. The focus is on pre‑sales support, technical credibility, solution consulting and early customer activation, rather than long‑term retention or reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a technical pre‑sales specialist, supporting the sales process from demo through to conversion
* Deliver technical product demonstrations to prospects and stakeholders
* Support solution design and requirements gathering, translating customer needs into workable platform solutions
* Explain platform functionality clearly, including core SaaS features, web-based tools and APIs
* Lead customer onboarding, implementation and initial setup
* Deliver customer training sessions to ensure early adoption and platform understanding
* Support customers during the early lifecycle phase, acting as a technical and commercial point of contact
* Work with SME customers and selected larger organisations
* Maintain accurate activity, pipeline and customer data within CRM systems
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful, you will bring strong experience across technical sales and onboarding within a SaaS environment, including:
* Pre‑Sales / Sales Engineering / Solutions Consulting experience
* Technical Account Management or Implementation experience
* SaaS product demonstrations and platform walkthroughs
* Onboarding, implementation and customer training
* Requirements gathering and solution design
* Explaining technical concepts to non‑technical users
* API knowledge or experience working with technical integrations
* CRM usage (Salesforce, HubSpot or similar)
* Commercial awareness and deal support experience
