Offer description

Post Ref: CC555

Please note: Internal applicants will be seen in the first instance.

Are you passionate about supporting young people transitioning from Care into adulthood?

Do you want to be part of a team that is dedicated and committed to providing quality support to young people leaving care?

The Pathways Team is looking to recruit a Pathway Advisor to join the team and assist in delivering a Leaving Care service to eligible young people.

The Pathways Service works in partnership with young people, families, parents, and a range of statutory and voluntary organizations/professionals to ensure child-centred systemic practice is the principal standard and framework for all work undertaken with young people and families/carers.

The right candidate will have the opportunity to engage in critical reflection and constructive challenge within their work with colleagues, other agencies, young people, and families/carers.

You will undertake specific direct work with young people and/or families/carers, both individually and in collaboration with colleagues.

You will contribute to high-quality needs assessments, pathway planning, delivery, review, and support for young people in their transition to adulthood and independence.

If you hold a Level 3 qualification or above in social work or a related field (desirable), hold a full, current UK driving licence, and have experience working with young people, particularly those at risk of social and educational exclusion, we welcome your application.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills and be familiar with assessment and planning. Experience with the systemic model of practice is desirable but not essential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Applicants for posts exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service before appointment.

Closing Date: Monday 1st September 2025

Interview Date: Monday 8th September 2025

We may utilize digital interview methods.

As part of our vision, on 30 January 2019, the Council declared a climate emergency to enhance its actions on climate change.

Calderdale Council values diversity and is committed to an inclusive environment. We encourage applications from individuals who share our commitment to challenging inequality and promoting diversity. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented communities. All applications are anonymized before review.
