About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead/Matron to join our Primary Care team at HMP Full Sutton, a Category A men's Prison in Full Sutton, York. The rural site offers on‑site parking, a gym, café, team building days, well‑being events and opportunities for professional development, including vaccination training and advanced qualifications.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 pm–4 pm or 7 am–7 pm. Occasionally one weekend in four with occasional night work to cover.
Salary
Full‑time role with an annual salary of up to £58,012, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high‑quality clinical service.
* Coach, line‑manage and develop clinician staff; support audits and governance; contribute to developing and reviewing clinical and local operating protocols.
* Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings; provide clinical supervision and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.
* Support patient concerns, contribute actions from HMPPS and partnership meetings, oversee local patient engagement strategy in partnership with the Head of Healthcare.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse – Adult
* Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Desirable: completed a leadership/management course
* Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* Non‑judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
