Overview
Locum Consultant Radiologist with expertise in Breast Imaging for Breast Services and Diagnostic Imaging within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The role will initially be offered for 12 months with a view to become a substantive appointment.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the 8 colleagues within Breast Imaging to maintain a comprehensive, high quality screening and symptomatic breast service.
* Be part of a wider team of radiologists providing subspecialty and General Radiology services across the Trust.
* Contribute to diagnostic services including CT, MRI, plain film reporting and ultrasound examinations.
* Possibility to accommodate a specialist interest.
* Fulfil NHS duties within the agreed Job Plans, including management of both elective and emergency radiology cases and providing reciprocal cover for periods of leave.
* Join the existing team of 8 Breast Radiologists and support growth in demand for Breast services at NUH.
* Contribute to Diagnostic services at Queens Medical Centre, City Campus, Nottingham Treatment Centre and possibly the region via EMRAD.
Qualifications
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists.
* Complete Breast Imaging Training within a symptomatic service.
* Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of Core Training Time (CTT) at the time of interview; NHSBSP experience desirable.
Additional information
The Breast Unit at Nottingham City Hospital is one of the largest in the country, treating around 7–800 new breast cancers each year diagnosed from about 8,000 new referrals to the daily new referral "one stop" breast clinics. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to the provision of Diagnostic services at multiple sites and possibly to the region via EMRAD.
