EC&I Maintenance Technician
Location: Raikes Lane, Bolton
Salary: £51,098 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday (call‑out one week in seven days)
Benefits: Call‑Out Allowance (£200 per week), up to 10% annual bonus, 5% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
Responsibilities
You’ll deliver both reactive and planned maintenance, working with advanced systems that help transform waste into energy. As part of a collaborative, multi‑skilled team, you’ll also share your expertise across disciplines and help keep the site running efficiently.
* Deliver planned and reactive EC&I maintenance across the plant to maximise reliability and performance.
* Provide specialist expertise on key equipment including Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMs) and the Distributed Control System (DCS).
* Diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs and instrumentation issues quickly and effectively.
* Offer guidance, supervision and development support to junior technicians and the wider team.
* Participate in a 1‑in‑7 on‑call rota for essential out‑of‑hours cover (fully compensated).
Qualifications
* Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* Solid experience in PLCs; programming experience highly desirable, instrumentation troubleshooting, and experience with DCS systems.
* C&G 2377 PAT Testing qualification.
* Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or similar; training support available if needed).
* Experience with Mitsubishi control systems is desirable but not required.
