Urgent Care Practitioner

We have an exciting vacancy opportunity for varying hours for urgent care practitioners with a professional registration of NMC or HCPC.
The post holder will apply autonomous assessment, examination, and documentation and follow relevant clinical guidelines for the treatment of patients under the supervision and decision-making of senior clinicians.
The Urgent Care Practitioner will be expected to engage in Shift Lead duties on a regular basis, to ensure patients are cared for by the right person, in the right place at the right time.
Main duties of the job
You will seek clinical expertise regarding judgement, discretion, and decision-making in the provision of clinical care to adults and children presenting with undifferentiated diagnoses of minor injuries and illnesses within a UTC setting.
The post holder will work towards and be committed to undertaking an agreed capability framework.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional registration with NMC or HCPC
* Minor injuries or minor illness management qualification or equivalent experience
* Level 6 module in Physical Examination and Clinical Reasoning (2) – or willingness to commence course within 12 months (1)
* Teaching qualification
* Paediatrics Training
Experience
* Over 2 years post-registration experience
* Contemporary clinical experience within an acute/urgent care environment or commitment to undertake an agreed capability framework
* Practical understanding of primary care and community services
* Mentor, appraiser or clinical supervisor
* Participating in multi‑professional team
* Involvement in service quality improvements
Skills and Attributes
* Willingness and ability to work flexibly across UTC sites
* Ability to lead a shift (1), ability to triage and prioritise the clinical workload (1)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinical data systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
