Lenovo is seeking an HPC System Administrator to join our Professional Services team, supporting high-performance computing (HPC) environments for leading research and enterprise customers. This permanent role is open in both Romania and the UK, with a primary focus on remote work and occasional on-site visits (approximately once per month). The ideal candidate will have strong Linux and HPC skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the flexibility to participate in a weekend standby rotation (standard business hours, compensated). Key Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and manage the physical and virtual infrastructure of HPC data centers, ensuring reliability and security. Serve as the customers Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for technical support, providing timely responses and solutions. Perform daily system administration tasks, including user access management and defect resolution. Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and customer stakeholders to design, implement, and upgrade services. Participate in a weekend standby rotation (standard business hours, approximately 12 weekends per month, compensated). Maintain and update system documentation, monthly reporting, and contribute to service reviews and knowledge sharing. Position Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 2 years of experience in Linux system administration (e.g., SUSE, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and HPC environments.
