The Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information to support decision‑making across the estate. Reporting to the Financial Performance and Analysis Manager, the role provides robust data analysis, forecasting insight, cost control and long‑term value.
Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of periodic management accounts with detailed commentary and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to deadlines.
* Own period‑end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and stakeholder query management.
* Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for designated business areas.
* Support long‑range financial planning and scenario modelling aligned to Punch Pubs’ strategic priorities.
* Provide timely and reliable ad hoc reporting to Business Partnering & Operations teams.
* Offer coaching, support and technical guidance to the Management Accountant team.
* Act as a senior point of escalation for technical or judgement‑based accounting matters, contributing to a high‑performing and collaborative finance team culture.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and group policies.
* Support internal and external audit requirements as needed.

Qualifications
Essential
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
* Significant experience in a management accounting role.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
Desirable
* Experience within hospitality, retail, consumer or multi‑site environments.
* Previous experience leading or mentoring finance team members.
* Knowledge of pub, leisure or property‑related financial models.
