Position Overview: We are seeking a trusted and highly capable VP, Compliance, Governance, and Legal to lead PayAngel’s Risk & Compliance function as we continue to scale across multiple markets. In this role, you will ensure that PayAngel meets all regulatory obligations while embedding best practices in risk management, corporate governance, and legal oversight. You will play a key role in fostering a strong culture of ethical conduct and compliance across the organization. This position will partner closely with senior leadership and the Board, contributing to strategic and operational decision-making at the highest level. Key Responsibilities: 1. Compliance & Risk Oversight Lead and mature the company’s Risk & Compliance Program, including Financial Crime – AML/CFT, data protection, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Oversee the design and implementation of effective risk management policies, compliance monitoring, and internal controls. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, FinCEN, FinTRAC, AUSTRAC, BoG ) and ensure enterprise-wide adherence. 2. Governance & Legal Advise leadership on corporate governance best practices, board matters, and company secretarial functions. Oversee legal and regulatory engagements, including partnerships with external counsel on commercial agreements, licensing, and corporate filings. Lead the development and review of policies, contracts, and documentation to mitigate legal and regulatory risks. 3. Leadership & Mentorship Provide leadership to team members across markets. Build a high-performance risk and compliance culture through mentorship, coaching, and professional development. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Finance, Product, Growth and Technology teams to embed compliance and governance into daily business practices. 4. Regulatory Engagement & Reporting Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities, financial partners, and auditors. Oversee regulatory filings, audits, and correspondence in all operating markets. Report to the CEO and the Board on compliance risk trends, incidents, and remediation activities. 5. Organizational Impact Contribute to shaping PayAngel’s culture, safeguarding the trust of customers, partners, and regulators. Support the CEO in continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of compliance processes and scaling risk frameworks as the company grows. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Business, or related field (Advanced degrees or certifications such as ICA, CAMS, or CRCM preferred). 10 years in compliance, risk, or legal leadership roles, ideally within FinTech or financial services. Strong knowledge of Financial Crime ( AML/CFT ), data protection, corporate governance, and financial services regulations. Experience managing regulatory audits, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring programs. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Why Join PayAngel?
