Procurement: Lead on procurement for consumables, equipment and advanced materials for the organisation. Conduct market analysis, engage with suppliers, negotiate and management of the supply chain. Financial Planning: Manage the budget for material and equipment procurement and conduct analysis of actual performance versus budget. Material Management: Working with the Lead Technician to ensure the facility has suitable areas and equipment for storage of materials. Conduct receipt of materials, quality checks and approval of items. Manage stock levels and determine re-order frequencies. Implement and continuously improve system including electronic systems for stock management. Invoice payment: Reconcile orders and liaise with finance for payment of invoices. This hands-on role will be based in our offices in Oxford and reports to the Lead Technician. Procurement – source items by conducting market research to identify products, determine pricing trends, evaluate offers from suppliers and negotiate pricing and payment terms to ensure best value. Procurement - raise purchase orders for goods and services either directly or via requisitions. Material Management - Track orders and ensure timely delivery. Experience / Education 3 years experience in a procurement/ material management role. A background in science with a good understanding of supply chain process and contracts.
