New Vacancy Estimator – Maritime Infrastructure (Pre-FEED/FEED Phase) Location: Newcastle, United Kingdom Project: National Maritime Infrastructure – Shipyard Development (Package 1) Contract Duration: Until January 2026 Work Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK Preferred Experience: Previous involvement in large-scale energy, oil & gas, or maritime infrastructure projects About the Project This national initiative aims to develop multiple shipyards on both the eastern and western coasts of the country, including naval and commercial yards. The project is currently in its Pre-FEED and FEED phases and is expected to create substantial local employment opportunities and foster industrial growth. Role Purpose The Estimator will be responsible for providing expert cost analysis and capital expenditure forecasting across multi-disciplinary, large-scale industrial projects. You will support the development of cost estimates during conceptual and design phases, assist in contractor negotiations, and contribute to the evaluation of bid packages and change orders. Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual and detailed capital cost estimates across multiple disciplines Translate scope and technical inputs into robust cost models Prepare estimates using MTOs, IFC drawings, and construction benchmarks Establish and apply project-specific contingency factors and complexity indicators Review contractor-submitted estimates, bids, and change orders Maintain and update estimating databases and normalization metrics Benchmark against industry KPIs and historical data Support procurement and contracting teams during bid evaluation and negotiation phases Ensure proper use of estimating tools and maintain data confidentiality Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering 10–15 years of estimating experience, with at least 5 years in oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects Strong Excel skills; familiarity with K Base or similar tools is advantageous Proficient in developing estimates, setting up cost codes, and reporting frameworks Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and external vendors International project experience and cross-cultural communication skills are highly valued Strong command of English, both written and verbal Key Competencies Analytical thinking and problem-solving Effective planning and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Results-driven with a commitment to excellence Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic project environment If you meet the requirements above, Please apply!
