The Business
The company is a well-established manufacturing business based in Bridgend, supplying products to customers across the UK and overseas. Operating within a busy production environment, the finance team plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
Due to continued growth, the business is now looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team, with responsibility for Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger.
The Role
The Accounts Assistant will take ownership of the purchase ledger, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring close collaboration with suppliers, purchasing, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Processing a high volume of supplier invoices for materials, components, and services
2. Matching invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes
3. Investigating and resolving invoice and pricing discrepancies
4. Handling supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
5. Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts
6. Preparing and processing regular payment runs
7. Assisting with month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations
8. Working closely with procurement and production teams to resolve issues
9. Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes
Candidate Requirements
10. Previous experience in an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger role
11. Experience within a manufacturing or similar environment would be advantageous
12. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
13. Good communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers
14. Competent user of Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience desirable)
15. Well organised, reliable, and able to work to deadlines
