For over a century, The King’s Fund has worked to improve people’s health and care. We tackle the thorniest questions facing our health and care system, and in turn society. We do this through our research, analysis and insight; leadership and organisational development with health and care leaders; convening and events; and partnering with others. With bold thinking for better health, we’re on a mission to inspire hope and confidence that we can create a world where everyone lives a healthy life.
About the role
Are you a strategic communicator ready to help shape national conversations on health and care? The King’s Fund is seeking a dynamic senior leader to oversee our media relations, public affairs, and responsive policy work. This role is pivotal to building our public profile, driving impact, and delivering on our strategic objectives.
As Assistant Director of External Affairs, you’ll lead high-quality communications activity, develop and implement strategies to reach opinion formers and decision makers, and ensure our voice is heard across media and policy platforms. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll identify opportunities to influence change and will guide public affairs and responsive policy initiatives.
You’ll advise the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team, represent the Fund externally, and build strong relationships with journalists and stakeholders. You’ll also manage a talented team, fostering a culture of creativity, integration and high performance.
If you bring senior experience in media and public affairs, a deep understanding of UK politics and policy, and a passion for leadership and collaboration, this could be the role for you.
Additionally, if you would find it helpful to have a short, informal conversation before applying for the role, please contact us(see advert on our website).
