Job Description:
Amazon opened its virtual doors in 1995 and strives to be the world’s most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online.
Amazon Logistics is experiencing unprecedented growth and is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Project Manager responsible for network-wide projects from concept to handover across the entire network of sites. This includes new site launches, dilapidations, and critical projects from an engineering and facilities perspective. The role requires full UK legal and statutory compliance knowledge to ensure all project details exceed standards, align with existing processes, and develop new concepts.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and coordinating design efforts between internal teams and vendors for Amazon's logistical network, including equipment specifications and FC layouts.
* Managing capital projects from conceptual drawings to bid documentation for competitive bidding.
* Monitoring installation schedules and vendor quality on-site.
* Inspecting facilities to ensure standards and procedures are met, managing snagging lists and warranty work.
* Coordinating between internal departments and MHE vendors at multiple sites.
* Managing budgets and contracts, including RFPs, change orders, and invoicing.
* Ensuring operator training, procedural compliance, and maintenance practices for new and existing MHE equipment.
* Managing Capex documentation to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Collaborating with UK Real Estate, IT, and Process teams, as well as software and Operations teams, to ensure timely project delivery.
* Understanding operational processes and WMS tools used daily.
Basic Qualifications:
* B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling systems.
* Technical leadership in large-scale, complex projects.
* Knowledge of industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.
* Proficiency with MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to travel across the UK depending on project location.
* Experience designing and laying out MHE solutions from manual to automated.
* Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
* Leadership and guidance experience, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Manufacturing System.
* Financial justification skills for complex solutions.
* Ability to switch between strategic and hands-on approaches.
* Proven project management skills across multiple disciplines.
