General Sales Manager
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 Basic | £65,000 – £70,000+ OTE
Hours: Monday–Saturday (day off in week) + Sunday rota (if applicable)
The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced General Sales Manager to lead the sales function at a high-performing dealership in Basingstoke.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving profitability, managing the sales team, and ensuring exceptional customer experience across both new and used vehicle departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Sales Department (New & Used)
* Drive volume, profitability, and KPIs across the business
* Manage, coach, and develop a team of Sales Managers & Executives
* Oversee stock management, pricing, and margin control
* Ensure F&I performance and compliance standards are met
* Monitor and improve customer satisfaction (CSI)
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver business objectives
* Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners
Requirements
* Proven experience as a General Sales Manager or Sales Manager within a dealership
* Strong track record of hitting and exceeding targets
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Commercially driven with a focus on profitability and performance
* Experience with volume or premium brands
* Full UK driving licence
