Job Description
Join Our Team: Business Analyst - Mergers and Acquisitions
Location: South Birmingham (2 days per week)
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join a global businesss embarking on an ambitious growth journey; they need a Business Analyst who does "BA standard with that little bit extra."
This isn't just a role for a process mapper; it's for a tech-savvy investigator who can dive deep into the heart of an acquired business.
They are currently managing a diverse portfolio of acquisitions - ranging from 5 million turnover enterprises to specialised design firms in London and large-scale operations like 350 schools in Ireland. You will be the bridge that ensures these businesses are seamlessly integrated into the digital ecosystem.
Your Role
As the MandA Business Analyst, you will go beyond traditional boundaries to proactively uncover how partners operate. You will:
Audit Tech Stacks: Get "under the hood" of target companies to understand their hardware, apps, social media presence, and communication tools.
Drive Integration: Identify challenges and opportunities within their technology and systems to ensure a smooth transition.
Build the Blueprint: Document existing processes and create repeatable, scalable templates that will define how to handle future acquisitions.
Collaborate Across Borders: Work with internal IT, Operations, and Finance teams, as well as external consultants, to align every acquisition with our strategic goals.
Who You Are
We aren't looking for someone who just follows a ticket queue. We need someone confident, independent, and diplomatic.
The Tech Translator: You have a strong understanding of technology stacks and enterprise systems. You are pragmatic and can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
The Detail Detective: You are naturally curious and detail-oriented, with a passion for understanding how different businesses tick.
The Problem Solver: You can manage ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The Professional: While Agile experience is a plus, your focus this year will be on direct, pragmatic integration and relationship building.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within MandA or large-scale integrations.
Expertise in process mapping and developing scalable templates.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to work independently.
Professional certification (e.g., IIBA, BCS) is a significant advantage.
