Join Our Team as a Chartered Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist!

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Maternity cover – 12 months fixed term from January 2026

As one of the largest providers of substance misuse services in England and Wales, we are excited to invite a talented Chartered Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team.


Your Role and Responsibilities

As a key member of our MHTR team, you will:

* Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists.
* Utilize innovative approaches from other Turning Point MHTR services, collaborating closely with the Clinical Lead and under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
* Oversee the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service, offering practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions.
* Inspire and develop your team, focusing on enhancing psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach.
* Manage a small caseload of service users with complex needs, delivering specialist psychological assessments and therapies.
* Influence the strategic direction of the service by building strong professional links with statutory and voluntary service providers.
* Continuously seek ways to improve our services and integrate broader issues like housing, employment, and finances into treatment.
* Collaborate with our national team of psychologists to develop and refine psychological and psycho-social approaches across services.


What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

* Up-to-date registration with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist.
* A doctorate in your professional specialism and proven experience in delivering psychological services.
* Experience in leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally with a background in substance misuse services.
* Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a strong commitment to the Recovery Agenda.
* Formal training in supervision is desirable but not essential.
