An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and dynamic Administration and Reception team in the Neurology Outpatients Department at York Teaching Hospital.
In this role you will be the first point of contact for our service users and the successful applicant should be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and empathy alongside demonstrating our Trust Values.
Experience of working in a healthcare setting and some reception knowledge would be desirable. Previous experience in an Outpatients setting would also be advantageous.
Working pattern: Full Time Mon-Fri 7.5 hours a day on a rota basis to cover reception as a team between the hours of 8-5

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a range of administrative support, including:
1. Meeting with patients on reception, and helping with appointments and queries
2. Use the e-referral software to process new patient referrals in the required time frame
3. Booking nurse clinic appointments and therapy appointments as well as consultant clinic appointments
4. Monitor the team's email inbox
5. Receive general enquiries, which could be as the first point of contact including, patients, visitors, staff and others.
6. Managing the clinic outcomes worklist
7. Monitoring the FUPB list and actioning as appropriate

Qualifications
Essential criteria
15. Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
16. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
