Selby Outpatient Department has opened up a new position for a Registered Nurse for 20 hours per week
We are a diverse Outpatient department supporting clinics from many different specialities. We also have a Dermatology treatment area, providing nurse led treatments for skin conditions, a theatre used for Dermatology Surgery and larger theatre used for Maxillofacial surgery.
We are a small, friendly team who work closely together to provide a welcoming environment for colleagues, patients, and relatives. We provide care for people of all ages, with many different conditions.
As a registered nurse within our department, you will provide patients with dermatology UV light treatments, admit patients for maxillofacial surgery and provide post op care in recovery following their procedures and assist consultants to run specialist clinics completing procedures for a variety of different specialities.
You will be responsible for taking charge of the department in the absence of senior staff, co-ordinating clinical activities and assisting in the training and supervision of students and junior staff.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at Selby Hospital. Remote interviews are not available.

Main duties of the job
1. Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
2. Maintain a safe and clean working environment
3. Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
4. Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
5. Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
6. Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
7. Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
8. Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
9. Education and Training
Training will be provided where necessary.
