About the Role
As a Software Business Development Manager, you'll lead efforts to drive adoption of Heatpunk, our heat pump system design software. You'll take charge of building relationships with accredited heat pump installers, showcasing how Heatpunk can save time and money while simplifying installations. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic outreach & sales
* Identify and target high-potential enterprise clients for Heatpunk adoption.
* Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
* Deliver advanced software demonstrations and sales materials tailored to different audiences.
* Lead the business development pipeline for Heatpunk, analysing performance and optimising outreach strategies.
* Collaborate with the Head of Software Sales to align Heatpunk's sales goals with broader company objectives.
* Work with our Customer Success and Delivery Manager to implement processes that maximise customer retention and upsell opportunities.
* Liaise closely with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to provide market feedback and insights.
* Support and mentor more junior members of the software team.
Customer onboarding & success
* Onboard new customers and give them an exceptional experience with Heatpunk.
* Showcase how Heatpunk can save time and money while simplifying installations for accredited heat pump installers.
You'll report to the Head of Software Sales and collaborate with our broader team to drive adoption of our innovative heat pump design software.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
* Is a confident communicator: You're comfortable presenting and engaging with a wide range of audiences, from installers to directors at major energy companies.
* Is commercially driven: You're motivated by targets and excited by the opportunity to drive the growth of an innovative software product.
* Understands the value of good relationships: You're someone who builds trust with clients and internal teams alike, and you know that long-term partnerships matter.
* Is tech-savvy and adaptable: You understand software products, are quick to learn, and are happy to support and demo digital tools.
* Is collaborative and supportive: You enjoy mentoring others and working across departments to help shape a product's future.
Bonus points if you have:
* Experience selling SaaS or digital platforms, ideally in the renewables or heating sector.
* Familiarity with heat pump installations or MCS accreditation processes.
* Worked with CRM systems and can manage your pipeline effectively.
What it offers
You'll be joining a vibrant, mission-driven company aiming to become the go-to distributor and software provider in the UK's renewables sector. The role is based in our Cambridge office near Milton Country Park, with the flexibility for some remote working. You'll be part of a growing software team with real impact on the future of the business.
The salary is £39,000-£49,000 depending on experience, plus a generous performance-related bonus.
