You will gain hands-on experience working with real IT systems, learn from friendly experts, and develop valuable skills that can open doors across the tech industry. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job Help keep computer systems secure by managing passwords, setting up security rules, and checking antivirus and encryption tools.
Read and follow technical guides and documents to complete tasks correctly.
Record all IT work and problems in the helpdesk system to keep clear records.
Provide technical help to staff and customers by phone, email, chat, or video call.
Use different tools to find and fix computer or network problems.
Set up and update computers, laptops, and software when needed.
Make sure all systems are updated with the latest versions and security patches.
Learn about cloud systems like Microsoft 365 and use simple scripts to automate basic tasks.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Good communication skills and confidence to speak with customers by phone or email.
Ability to listen carefully and record information clearly when logging IT issues.
Basic understanding or interest in computers, networks, and technology.
Willingness to learn new IT systems, software, and troubleshooting methods.
Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to finding solutions.
Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions carefully.
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a supportive team.
Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 5 in GCSE English
Salary, Hours&Benefits: £16,000 per annum.
9am-5pm Monday to Friday (flexible working hours, set 37.5 per week).
Staff events - at least once a year usually a Christmas party.
25 day holiday plus bank holidays
This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we'll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You'll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you'll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You'll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
