Quality Assurance Engineer and Quality Assurance Manager (Consumer Products, NOT software)

The Edge Staffing team has partnered with a Boston area manufacturer in their search for a Quality Assurance Engineer and a Quality Assurance Manager to join their Product Safety team.
These roles are hands-on and deeply involved in ensuring that consumer products meet rigorous safety, compliance, and internal quality standards. From early design concepts through final production, you'll play a key role in reviewing, testing, and validating products to support safe and reliable launches.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth product and packaging reviews for compliance with U.S. consumer product safety regulations.
2. Apply regulatory standards (such as CPSIA, FHSA, ASTM F963, etc) to assess products for potential hazards.
3. Prepare technical documentation, including evaluation reports, risk assessments, and QA records.
4. Coordinate testing efforts with global third-party labs and follow through on non-compliance resolution.
5. Support packaging and labeling verification to ensure accuracy of safety warnings and claims.
6. Participate in investigations of customer complaints and post-market issues.
7. Assist in corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs), root cause analysis, audits, and quality improvement projects.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, sourcing, compliance, and manufacturing to uphold quality expectations.
Qualifications
1. QA Engineer: 1–3 years of experience in consumer product quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or testing coordination.
2. QA Manager: 5+ years in quality assurance, consumer product safety, or engineering.
3. Working knowledge of U.S. product safety regulations and standards.
4. Strong understanding of inspection procedures, technical specifications, and compliance documentation.
5. Attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
6. Proficiency in Excel, lab reports, inspection tools, and technical forms.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and time zones.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Safety, Industrial Design, or a related field.
* Equivalent hands-on experience in quality assurance or regulatory compliance for consumer goods may also be considered.
