Job Description

As a Structural/Civil Maritime Engineer you will lead or support the design and analysis of marine and coastal civil and structural works.


Key Responsibilities

* Undertake structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal structures using BS, Eurocodes, PIANC, CIRIA, ICE.
* Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for quay walls, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, dolphins, linkspans.
* Carry out stability, bearing capacity, and durability assessments under wave, current, corrosion.
* Design and specify fendering systems, mooring arrangements, scour protection.
* Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
* Conduct site inspections and structural condition surveys, prepare inspection reports.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, port authorities, regulatory bodies.
* Collaborate with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, coastal engineers.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and CDM regulations.
* Provide technical support during construction, review contractor submissions, respond to site queries.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring, continuous improvement.

Qualifications

* MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong civil/structural design background, ideally marine or coastal infrastructure.
* Sound understanding of structural behaviour, materials, marine loading.
* Familiarity with British Standards, Eurocodes, maritime guidance documents.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC level).
