The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has appointed Laing O'Rourke to a new alliance to build Single Living Accommodation (SLA) for the Armed Forces. The alliance, which will run for six years, will see 16,000 new bedspaces built as part of a wider MOD plan to build or refurbish 40,000 SLA bedspaces over ten years.
As a dedicated Senior Social Value Advisor for this programme, you will be based in our Sale office, providing both remote and in-person support across 3 projects nationally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Social Value Advisor, you will:
* Deliver Social Value strategies across multiple projects, focusing on education, employment, and community investment.
* Monitor and report on delivery outputs and identify risks or issues against contractual KPIs and sustainability targets.
* Set and implement KPIs and delivery plans aligned to central and client social value priorities.
* Build and manage stakeholder relationships with delivery partners, site teams, and supply chain.
* Raise awareness of social value strategies, educating project teams in its delivery including chairing stakeholder meetings and presenting.
* Drive procurement excellence by using Laing O'Rourke's Social Value Playbook to embed social value commitments into procurement processes and ensure supply chain alignment.
* Monitor and measure impact, evaluating social value delivery and tracking outcomes using impact tools.
* Promote best practice by staying informed on social value trends.
About You
We're looking for a Social Value champion who:
* Has a deep understanding of social value drivers, frameworks, and their application across public and private sectors.
* Is experienced in delivering social value strategies and engaging diverse teams.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
* Can work across multiple projects and teams, with a willingness to travel to sites as needed.
* Has experience in the construction sector (preferred) or transferable skills from other industries or relevant roles.
