Summary and overview of the role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading, developing and managing CORE Nuclear Solutions Project Delivery function. The role will oversee the full lifecycle of projects, from early concept through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest levels of quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will also strive for continuous improvement, strengthen delivery methods and work in collaboration across the organisation shaping CORE’s project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, Lead and continuously improve the Project Delivery function, mentoring and supporting team members, creating a high performing team
- Implement an effective project delivery method, enhancing the building blocks already in place.
- Lead projects from concept through to final delivery, adhering to quality standards and CORE’s project management processes.
- Monitor project progress and plans, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies, keeping projects on time and to cost
- Facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders and clients, maintaining clear communication and updates, addressing any issues promptly.
- Work closely with the wider CORE team, identifying opportunities for growth, effective collaboration and continuous development
- Work closely with the Senior Management team to shape the project pipeline, evaluating potential initiatives and supporting business development
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- Degree – Level Education or equivalent professional experience
- Formal Project management Qualification (APM, PMP)
- Strong experience leading multiple complex projects from concept to delivery
- Proven experience of building, growing of supporting/managing a project team/ delivery function
- Experience mentoring employees
- Proven Experience within the Nuclear/Engineering Industry
- Experience in project portfolio management and reporting
- Experience working in cross-functional organisations
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of project management tools and best practices
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills Excellent communication skills
- Experience in facilitation project management meetings, workshops with internal stakeholders and clients
- Competence with project management tools and software including SharePoint, MS Project, P6 and Microsoft Packages
