Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners worldwide.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
Assist in managing compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice.
Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes, focusing on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and efficient work.
Deliver practical, business-oriented advice while managing risk and compliance.
Present on legal topics and write articles.
Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
Expert legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
Strong risk management and strategic thinking skills.
Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on laws across jurisdictions.
Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
Ability to balance legal risk management with the needs of a fast-growing global business.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
