Main duties of the job The Cardiovascular and Thoracic care group are delighted to offer a new position within our administration and clerical (A&C) department to work with the teams to develop and implement standardised ways of working, embed digital solutions and support the development of individuals and services. The successful applicant will need a practical understanding of the intricacies and interdependencies of trust systems and be enthusiastic about how we can make our processes as clear as possible for the benefit of both our teams and our patients. The postholder will be very much a part of the A&C team but will also work with the support teams within the trust such as Transformation, OAC, Access to take the best of what we have and ideally make it better! The postholder will report to the Operational Manager for CV&T, reflecting the cross care group nature of this role (as opposed to a specialty focus) and the impact this work will have the experience of our patients, the efficient use of our capacity and the admin teams. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities As you will know, CV&T is a large and busy care group which can result in variation about how things are done, part of this role will to work with the teams to understand how (and why) things are currently done as they are and develop shared ways of working that make a genuine and tangible improvement for our patients and teams. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate that they can work with a diverse group of individuals across a number of wards, specialities and sub-specialities to maximise everyone's contribution to the patient experience as well as ensuring that each individual is supported and valued. The successful candidate will be adept at working with the wider teams (e.g. consultants, ward leaders, care group management) to align with the trust aims as well as advocating for the A&C teams. The post is a mix of day to day management along with the opportunity to lead transformation work and develop an understanding of the various performance standards that the A&C teams have a pivotal role in meeting. Due to the service and people focus of the role, the expectation is that the postholder is based on site, working with the CV&T teams in the various locations within the hospital. Person specification Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience Essential criteria Educated to Degree level or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience Management/Leadership training or demonstrable experience Evidence of continuing professional or personal development Experience of implementing and monitoring administrative procedures and policies Experience of project/change implementation, management and monitoring ongoing projects. Experience of communicating with all levels of professional staff and the public.
