VOLUNTARY OPPORTUNITY: Content & Media Assistant

Hybrid (primarily remote with a minimum of two in-person meetings per month in Salford)

Time Commitment:
6–8 hours per week

About the Role

Salford Pride is seeking a creative and committed Content & Media Assistant (Voluntary) to support the promotion of our events, campaigns, and projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion while building valuable skills in media, communications, and content production.

You'll work closely with the Head of Marketing & Branding to develop and deliver engaging multimedia content across our digital platforms, support external media communications, and help shape the organisation's visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the creation of content and visuals for Salford Pride's social media channels and website
* Assist with photography and videography at events and during campaigns
* Edit and post-produce visual content for use across platforms
* Manage and organise media resources, including online drive assets
* Contribute to and manage a content calendar
* Collaborate with the Design Assistant to ensure consistent brand identity
* Support the creation of promotional materials and press releases
* Write clear and engaging copy aligned with Salford Pride's tone of voice
* Respond to external media enquiries and manage media engagement when required
* Be receptive to feedback and collaborate with the Board on content approval

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Has experience or a strong interest in content creation, digital media, or communications
* Is comfortable using editing tools such as Canva, Adobe, CapCut or similar
* Has strong written and verbal communication skills
* Is well-organised, reliable, and able to work independently
* Is passionate about LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion
* Can attend at least two in-person meetings per month in Salford
