We wish to fill this key position at our major processing plant at Dunmanbridge near Cookstown. Engineering Technician - Dunman As an Engineering Technician you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing best in class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. Your role is to optimise the reliability and cost performance of site services and utilities which include but not limited to steam generation and distribution systems, water and effluent treatment systems, compressed air, refrigeration plant, heat pump and LV electrical systems. You will take responsibility and accountability for completing both preventative and reactive maintenance within site services and facilities. Key Responsibilities Duties will include: Adherence to site health and safety policies Completion daily maintenance tasks including preventative, reactive and corrective work to support the site manufacturing operation, delivering optimum plant availability and reliability for all utilities related equipment Must have the ability to follow electrical schematics, P&IDs, pneumatics, mechanical component drawings, as built and as installed drawings Responsible for ensuring the quality of work carried out is maintained at the highest possible standard and compliant with site quality requirements Attend daily meetings both within the engineering function and plant operations when required to provide maintenance updates Ongoing development and implementation of the Maintenance Strategy for site services to ensure minimal unplanned downtime occurs, and root cause analysis of reoccurring issues Support contractor activities including the use of the permit to work system Ensure site services compliance for Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental Legislation, ensuring areas are audit ready Using technical engineering ability and initiative to identify opportunity and drive a reduction in energy usage across all utilities Ensure that all maintenance activities are recorded on the CMMS Lead and support improvement initiatives related to site services Work as part of an inter-dependent team with flexibility to take on all other reasonable tasks Specific Skills & Experience Required: Time served apprenticeship (electrical/mechanical) with a recognised UK qualification. A minimum of 3 years engineering experiencing in a manufacturing or services environment. Highly motivated with the ability to perform in a highly challenging, expanding environment Confident individual with excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have the ability and skill set to develop and support the team. Excellent problem-solving skills. Must have strong analytical skills to interrogate data to identify, implement and monitor energy saving initiatives. A flexible approach. Must have high degree of computer literacy to include Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and computerised maintenance management systems Must have the ability to monitor, interrogate and analyse production/engineering SCADA systems and equipment interfaces Desirable Experience of working wastewater treatment plants Experience of working with refrigeration systems 18th Edition wiring regulations Knowledge of PLC programmes with the ability to interrogate for fault finding purpose Knowledge of Facilities compliance legislation and guidelines e.g. PSSR; L8; LOLER In return, the successful candidate can embark on this excellent opportunity for both career and personal development.
