Senior Azure Local Cloud Engineer
CGI's Space, Defence & Intelligence business unit delivers secure, mission-critical solutions that support national defence. We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to support a highly secure programme for UK Defence.
This role will support an established secure project: a global electronic medical and dental records system used by the UK Armed Forces worldwide, including deployed and maritime environments. It is a hands‑on role supporting a live, business‑critical service.
This position requires some on‑site work in Leatherhead and holding or going through UK Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
* Engineer, operate and maintain Azure Local / hybrid cloud platforms
* Manage compute, storage, networking, patching and hardware lifecycle
* Monitor platform health, performance and capacity
* Act as an escalation point for incidents and lead root cause analysis
* Deploy and configure Azure Local and Azure hybrid integrations (Azure Arc, Backup)
* Ensure compliance with security, governance and operational standards
Qualifications
* Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI
* Solid understanding of on‑prem infrastructure (servers, storage, networking)
* Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex incidents
* Comfortable working in structured, ITIL‑aligned environments
* Defence or regulated sector experience (desirable)
