Senior Sous Chef

Location: Bedford Modern School, Manton Lane, Bedford MK41 7NT
Rate of pay: £29,000 - £30,000pa
Hours: 40 hours per week
Weeks: 40 weeks

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sous Chef with a background in exceptional food catering services to join us at one of our highly prestigious education settings. This prestigious independent school caters for students age 7-18 comprising a junior school and a senior school. With over 1,200 students, the school has a deep rooted history going back to 1764.

Job Description


Key Responsibilities

* To assist the chef team in planning, preparing, cooking and presenting food to the standards required by the company and the client.
* To control portion size and monitor waste
* To ensure supplies are correctly used, accounted for and to assist with weekly stock take and food rotation procedures
* To maintain records relating to food production activities and supplier information as required by the catering manager
* To ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are maintained in line with company policy and legislation
* To assist the executive chef in the day to day running of the kitchen
* To assist in regular team meetings on a regular basis to communicate targets, standards required and company/client information
* To ensure compliance with the company's policy on safer recruitment and safeguarding children and young adults at all times whilst at work.
