A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER AT OUR HOTEL
1. Begin the shift by reviewing the maintenance log and prioritising tasks for the day.
2. Carry out inspections and servicing of key infrastructure such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and generators.
3. Respond promptly to guest service requests and address maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction.
4. Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption to hotel operations.
5. Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, and other operational departments to coordinate repairs and ensure seamless service delivery.
6. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work completed, materials used, and equipment service schedules.
7. Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
8. Participate in the on-call rotation and attend to urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours when required.
9. Continuously uphold the hotel's safety, security, and operational standards through proactive maintenance and attention to detail.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
10. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or Multi-Skilled Engineer, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
11. Experience in one or more trades.
12. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across a range of building systems.
13. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
14. Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and support guest satisfaction.
15. Willingness and flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
16. Basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to carry out risk assessments.
17. Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including lifting
18. Computer literacy for logging maintenance tasks and using digital reporting systems.
19. Availability to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance emergencies.
