ENT Specialty Doctor RLI

We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join the current ENT team in the Trust, the posts will be based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
You will work Cross Bay with Royal Lancaster Infirmary as the main site. You will be contracted for 10 sessions per week with the option to increase along with service needs.
Broad experience in general ENT is desirable. Any sub‑specialty interest will be actively supported.
Main duties of the job
The ENT department currently has 5 consultants, 3 associate specialists, 7 specialty doctors and 2 junior doctors (CT1/2 at RLI, FY2 at FGH). We have two head and neck clinical nurse specialists and one advanced nurse practitioner. The department runs specialist clinics such as a one‑stop head & neck clinic, paediatric clinics, voice and vertigo clinic. The on‑call rota is 1:4 weekends and 1:8 weekdays.
We aim to provide patient care close to home. Our H&N network is with Royal Preston Hospital but we also have excellent ties with Manchester Royal Infirmary for skull base pathology and rhinology related conditions. An elaborate audiology service is available for adults and paediatrics. There is an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and we have strong connections with Lancaster Medical School. We are a paperless department with e‑prescribing and e‑requesting.
You must have full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI provide a range of general hospital services, with full emergency departments, critical/ coronary care units and various consultant‑led services.
WGH provides a range of general hospital services, together with an urgent treatment centre, that can help with a range of non‑life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Education and qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* Professional qualifications in ENT, teaching, research or education
Experience
* Experience in management of ENT
* Experience of working in a multi‑disciplinary team
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment
* Empathy and sensitivity
* Ability to impart knowledge and teach skills to others
* Evidence of leadership roles, training or abilities
Training
* Wide range of training in surgery demonstrated with a log book
* Evidence of completion of audits

* Commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
* Evidence of previous undergraduate teaching experience
Management
