Overview
We are a leading meat production business, dedicated to delivering high-quality meat products to our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to maintain high standards of financial management.
* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
* Work with internal analyst and external management and financial accountants to facilitate financial reports, including monthly P&L reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Submit VAT returns and undertake monthly reconciliations.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations (GAAP, HMRC filings, VAT returns) and strengthen internal controls.
* Assist with annual audits and external reviews.
* Manage ad hoc projects and analyse scenarios with a solution-oriented mindset.

* A salary of £45,000 - £50,000, with opportunities for progression to Finance Director within five years.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Proficiency in financial management software (Sage 50 Accounts) and Microsoft Office.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams - you need to be a team player.
* Ability to work independently under tight schedules while managing multiple priorities.
* Knowledge of payroll and experience in food production, agriculture, or manufacturing sectors is a bonus.
Our Ideal Candidate
* AAT Level 3/4 qualified or degree level qualification with 3+ years of experience in a similar financial management role.
* Our turnover is circa £100 million – experience in a similar sized business is beneficial.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
* Detail-oriented, demonstrating accuracy and commitment to all tasks.
