Are you an experienced Steel Draughtsperson with strong steelwork knowledge? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a well-established family-run business where your technical expertise can play a key role in delivering commercial and industrial steel projects?
On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a respected steel construction specialist, where you'll support the design, manufacture, and installation of a wide range of steel framed buildings, structural modifications, and industrial access frameworks.
Work for a flexible and highly regarded family-owned business that delivers projects entirely in-house, from concept through to site installation. They are now looking for an experienced and proactive Steel Draughtsperson to strengthen their team and support the successful delivery of structural steel projects across the UK.
The day to day of this role includes creating 3D structural models, producing fabrication and installation drawings, generating general arrangement drawings, material lists and bolt schedules, issuing CAM/NC data, and liaising closely with architects, engineers, fabricators, and installers to ensure projects progress smoothly from design to erection.
The ideal candidate will have UK-based steel detailing experience, strong hot-rolled and architectural steelwork knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret architectural and structural engineer drawings while working to UK standards.
The role:
Steel Draughtsperson
3D modelling, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and project coordination
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Full-time office-based in Dudley
The person:
Minimum 5 years' UK steel detailing experience
Strong hot-rolled steel and architectural steelwork knowledge
Tekla Structures or StruCAD experience (3+ years preferred)
Ability to read architectural and structural engineer drawings
Good understanding of fabrication and installation requirements
Microsoft Office knowledge
Methodical, proactive, and team-focused
