About The Role: Working Days: Monday to Thursday 07:00am - 15:30pm, Friday 07:00am - 14:30pm (Overtime available on Weekends) Job Purpose: To carry out painting and maintenance of building fabrics across the food manufacturing site, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires working at height and in sensitive production areas, maintaining hygiene and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: · Perform internal and external painting of building fabrics including walls, ceilings, doors, and structural elements. · Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as required. · Use appropriate materials and techniques suitable for food-safe environments. · Operate access equipment safely and efficiently (IPAF certification required). · Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain site standards. · Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption. · Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used. · Adhere to site hygiene, safety, and environmental policies. Requirements: · Time-served painter with proven experience in industrial or commercial environments. · IPAF certification – essential for working at height. · Knowledge of painting systems suitable for food-safe environments. · Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. · Strong awareness of health and safety practices. · Good communication and teamwork skills. · NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating (desirable). · Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods. · Experience working in occupied properties and managing customer expectations. · Familiarity with COSHH and safe handling of materials. Desirable: · Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated environments. · Basic understanding of other building maintenance tasks (e.g., plastering, minor repairs).
