Caisson Management Lead Technician
Overview
Primary purpose of the role is to lead and perform offshore/onsite caisson management services team (including but not limited to caisson inspections and repairs), maintain and develop bespoke caisson management tooling and provide technical support to the wider business. As Team Leader this role includes delegating tasks, mentoring junior members of the team, responsible for workshop activities and deputising for Caisson Management Project Manager. In addition, the secondary purpose of the role is to support mechanical and industrial services with multi-disciplined ad-hoc offshore/site scopes.
Responsibilities
* Onsite/offshore caisson services
* Supervising and training less experienced team members both onshore and offshore
* To interpret client specifications and requirements
* Carry out Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and General Visual Inspection (GVI) offshore of caissons and other tubular members. This includes:
* Site surveys
* Assist/Install rigging and lifting equipment
* Caisson debris removal
* Assist caisson cleaning scope
* Sampling scopes
* Onsite tool repairs
* Assist in performing data collection tasks using Altrads bespoke topside acquisition equipment and software. (Inspection ware)
* Responsible for following instructions given during pre/post job briefs
* Carry out caisson repair scope, primarily utilizing Altrads bespoke swaging tool. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Preparing and assisting packaging of equipment
* Operating control panel
* Maintaining equipment onshore and offshore
* Assist with handling of equipment (Rigging and lifting activities)
* Site survey
* Analyse results
Maintenance & Development
* Perform routine maintenance on all caisson management bespoke tooling
* Research and development of inspection, repair and survey technology
* Assist with emergency repairs of bespoke tooling
* Mechanical and hydraulic maintenance to high pressure pump skids
* Maintain workshop, ensure good housekeeping and maintaining records
* To assist in the development of new products through all Technology Readiness Level
Multi Skilling Technical Support
* Assist other industrial and mechanical service product lines with ad-hoc scopes. Scopes may include, but not limited to :
* Specialist cleaning/jetting
* Working at height
* Rope access
* Rigging and lifting
* Mechanical fitting
* Confined entry
Reporting
* Gather, Interpret, evaluate and approve analysis of Ultrasonic Testing and General Visual inspection data/information for client specification using Inspectionware software
* Compile video footage of scope and create video for client using our video editing software
* Presenting full project results to clients following job completion in technical report format
Team Leader duties
* Delegate tasks and manage workloads of other technicians
* Prioritise tasks of team
* Maintain close liaison with line manager and provide daily updates on project activities and performance
* Attend and report monthly with Caisson Management Project Manager and Engineering Manager
* Manage workshop area and bespoke caisson management tooling
* Retain records and equipment inventories
* Engage with R-Plant for all equipment
* Project management duties in absence of Project Manager
* Create and maintain workshop processes and procedures
* Create workshop risk assessment and maintain COSHH assessments
* Assist and contribute to work pack creation
* Control and maintain competency profiles of junior members of the team
HSEQ
* Be aware of, and understand your HSEQ responsibilities relevant to your role, if unsure ask your Line Manager
* Work in partnership with HSEQ on any HSEQ matters
* Work in accordance with your departmental HSEQ Service Level Agreement
* Understand and adhere to the Safer Together behaviours

Specific Requirements For The Caisson Management Lead Technician
Education & Experience
Education
* Mechanical course to HNC/HND level preferred but not essential
* Ultrasonic PCN 3.1/3.2 Qualification
* Rigging and Lifting
* Rope access
Experience And Skills
* Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas / energy sector
* Relevant industry experience
* Computer literate with experience in using Microsoft Office products
* Good attention to detail and diligent
* Capable of working as part of a team as well as with minimum supervision
* A clear and concise commitment to providing quality service delivery standards, responsive to business demands
* Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals outside of the Company
Additional Requirements
* Offshore travel as required
