Job Opportunity: Band 5 Occupational Therapist
NHS Grampian is seeking a motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Aberdeen City. We welcome applications from final year Occupational Therapy students due to qualify in summer 2025 (awaiting HCPC registration).
This role involves working with older adults (over 65) experiencing functional and organic mental illnesses. The post involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and senior occupational therapists, conducting specialized assessments, and delivering interventions through one-to-one and group community sessions.
We are committed to service improvement and enhancing patient experiences, with a focus on a multi-professional approach to maintain meaningful skills for community patients.
An extensive induction program, support for the Preceptorship Programme (for new graduates), and inclusion in a Peer Development Group are provided. Regular supervision, support, and opportunities for personal development through annual reviews and development plans are also available.
Applicants with an interest or experience in mental health are advantageous. A driving license and access to a vehicle are required. Flexibility for evening and weekend work may be necessary.
We offer an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 for successful candidates.
