About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a unique, high-quality residential care setting that is unlike a traditional care home. Set within a beautiful period property with extensive gardens and countryside views, this service provides care for adults aged 35+ with complex mental health needs, dementia, and behavioural challenges.
The environment is designed to feel homely, calm, and engaging, with a strong focus on quality of life, independence, and community living. Residents are supported to remain active and involved in daily life, with care built around meaningful activities rather than routine alone.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep of this distinctive property and its grounds. This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining both the functionality and character of a building.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, and decorating
Ensure the building, facilities, and grounds are safe, secure, and well-maintained
Maintain outdoor areas and gardens, contributing to a calm and therapeutic environment
Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
Coordinate with external contractors when required
Support the upkeep of communal areas and shared spaces
About You
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
Practical skills across a range of trades
Good knowledge of health & safety regulations
Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
Reliable, organised, and proactive
Comfortable working within a care environment and interacting respectfully with residents and staff

Competitive salary based on experience
