Information Security Operations Manager
One of the UK’s leading providers of critical infrastructure for trade requires a SecOps Manager.
This role involves leading the operations activities of the Information Security team, ensuring the highest quality protections are delivered to the business. The manager will administer, prioritize, monitor, and conduct business-as-usual Computer Security, Information Security, and Cyber Security activities in line with technical and business strategies, adhering to industry best practices.
The manager will assist the Information Security Lead by reviewing and improving the company's Cyber Security posture to meet compliance standards and legislation. Responsibilities include reporting on defense and initiative performance, driving best practices, and contributing to the development of the company's long-term Information Security strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing and supporting the Information Security team in DevSecOps practices.
* Managing relationships with security partners.
* Participating in management and governance forums to promote cybersecurity best practices.
* Deputizing for the Information Security Lead, including during security incidents.
* Maintaining and testing security technologies such as antivirus, data encryption, identity management, and cloud security measures.
* Improving procedures, documentation, and communication with internal teams.
* Reporting security status and system-specific issues.
* Supporting security audits and incident investigations.
* Recommending tools and countermeasures.
* Performing risk assessments and testing system vulnerabilities.
* Maintaining security procedures with vendors.
* Reviewing disaster recovery plans with technology teams.
* Staying current with security threats and incident trends.
* Working independently or as part of a team, meeting deadlines and budgets.
Key skills:
* Recognized security certifications (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISMP, CEH).
* Experience in security operations and IT technical background.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to guide staff at all levels.
* Independent work ethic with focus on objectives and timely delivery.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
* Strong customer service values and teamwork mindset.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in infrastructure security roles.
* Knowledge of ISMS, NIS Regulations, GDPR, and ITIL.
* Experience with MS cloud technologies such as Intune, Defender suite, Azure, and Entra.
