Automation Test Specialist Location: Telford (2 days per week onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Up to £480 per day inside IR35
Clearance: SC required (must be active or eligible cannot start until approved)
The Opportunity Were looking for an experienced Automation Test Specialist to join a new Scrum team within the Minerva Platform, delivering ingestion and risk processing solutions on the SAS Viya 4 platform .
This programme is focused on consolidating calculation services into a unified data service, simplifying architecture, reducing complexity, and supporting long-term cost efficiency across multiple consumer domains.
Youll play a key role in designing and implementing robust automated test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines, ensuring high-quality delivery of analytics and data-driven solutions.
What Youll Be Doing Designing and implementing automation test strategies for SAS Viya 4 applications
Building automated testing for:
UI-based Visual Analytics (VA)
Intelligent Decisioning (ID)
Data pipeline and integration testing
Developing and maintaining test scripts (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, JUnit)
Integrating automation into Git-based CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Supporting regression, performance, and integration testing
Collaborating closely with Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Business Analysts
Supporting test data strategy and environment provisioning
Troubleshooting issues in containerised environments (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to sprint delivery
What Were Looking For Strong experience in test automation design and implementation
Experience working with SAS Viya (ideally Viya 4)
Knowledge of automation frameworks such as Selenium, PyTest, JUnit
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of containerised deployments (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience working within Agile delivery teams
Active SC Clearance (or eligible and willing to undergo clearance)
