Are you an experienced and compassionate Children's Complex Carer looking for a rewarding permanent role in the West Midlands?
This role offers involves working in a home environment to provide safe, high-quality care to a child with complex needs while receiving competitive rates, ongoing training, and the chance to make a real difference in a child's life. We are actively seeking a dedicated individual to join our team to provide essential care and support to a child with complex needs in the comfort of their home
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 overnight support in line with clinical care plans
* Administer medication including PEG-delivered and PRN (training provided)
* Monitor for signs of dystonia and seizures, and respond using escalation protocols
* Support with PEG feeding and feeding pump monitoring
* Repositioning and pressure area care throughout the night
* Deliver full personal care (child is doubly incontinent)
* Assist with hoisting and manual handling (2:1 support)
* Maintain accurate care records and report concerns appropriately
Clinical Profile:
The child has the following clinical conditions:
* PEG feeding (nil by mouth)
* Cerebral palsy with high muscle tone
* Dystonia – daily episodes, escalation plan in place
* Epilepsy (managed, with emergency medication protocol)
* Severe visual impairment
* Double incontinence
* High aspiration risk (no suctioning currently required)
Essential Role Requirements:
* Experience in paediatric or complex care
* Confident in personal care and moving & handling
* Ability to follow care plans and respond to health needs appropriately
* Professional communication with family and multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Skills:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care
* Experience with dystonia or seizure management
* Hoisting and repositioning training
