We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Manager to become a key player in our Scotland business!

Your Mission
As a Senior Design Manager, you will lead the charge on a groundbreaking £100M+ healthcare new build facility. Your expertise and guidance will be essential in driving the success of this project from the second stage through to delivery.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver design information in line with the agreed design programme and schedule for a large healthcare project.
* Oversee our appointed design consultants, ensuring compliance with standards and addressing any performance issues.
* Lead design management during both preconstruction and construction stages.
* Assess, mitigate, and manage design-related risks while ensuring external consultants meet performance expectations.
* Chair design meetings, prepare reports, and provide updates to the Senior Leadership Team on design progress.
* Produce design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
* Provide subject matter expertise in healthcare building design.
* Offer strategic insights to keep Kier at the forefront of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and deliver effective technical solutions to clients.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you can demonstrate:
* A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
* Evidence of professional development through chartership or additional accreditation.
* Experience in a design role within a main contracting environment.
* High-level experience with tenders, second-stage bids, and significant live projects.
* Comprehensive knowledge of design management considerations specific to healthcare, including NHS Scotland processes.
* Experience with BIM Level 2 projects, including COBie data and Levels of Development (LoDM).
* Up-to-date knowledge of current building regulations and their impact on design.
* Understanding of key design principles, including M&E design parameters, fire, and acoustic requirements.
* Familiarity with Building Contracts (NEC, JCT, SBCC) and their influence on design management.
